Former NBA player Ollie has been an assistant coach with the Nets since this season. He started his coaching career in 2010 at the University of Connecticut, for which he had already played as a student. In 2018, he was relieved of his duties by the university management after he was accused of violating the rules. Ollie was banned from the collegiate level for three years. In 2021 he returned as coach of a newly founded league to promote talent before taking the step to the Nets last summer.

It was only announced on Monday afternoon (CET) that the Nets were parting ways with head coach Jacque Vaughn. Brooklyn is currently only eleventh in the table in the Western Conference after 45 games with a record of 21 wins and 33 defeats and is in danger of missing the playoffs.

Schröder only moved from the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets shortly before the end of the NBA trade deadline, who have lost five of their last six games. Above all, the violent 86:136 against the Boston Celtics before the All-Star weekend was a reason for the club bosses to take action.
