Kevin Durant Climbs all-time scoring list, Passing Carmelo Anthony

It was not a happy night for Kevin Durant that of February 23. His team, the Phoenix Suns, lost to the Rockets in Houston. But at least Durant had one happy historical fact: he went on the list of scorers to Carmelo Anthony climbing to 9th position of all time.

Durant scored 28 points and 28,296 in the regular season, compared to the 28,289 that Carmelo did in his day.

The top 7 on the list, headed by LeBron James with 39,898 points, they are far from Durant’s reach, because all of them exceed 30,000 points, but not the eighth, which is Shaquille O’Neal con 28.596.

Kevin Durant is the third best scorer on average in the historical Top 10, only surpassed by the 30.1 points average of Michael Jordan y Wilt Chamberlain. Durant is at 27.3, with LeBron fourth at 27.1.

The player he just surpassed, Carmelo Anthony, and the one who is now immediately ahead, Shaquille O’Neal, are very far away. The first averaged 22.5 points in the NBA and the second 23.7.
