Il Grand Slam Of Baku went on record with two podiums (both second places) for Italy, conquered by Odette Giuffrida and Asya Tavano. An overall positive result therefore for the Italian expedition in Azerbaijan, even if several athletes fighting for the Olympic pass left the scene early in the preliminaries, losing a good chance to climb the ranking.
