Judo Champions Battle at U11, U15, and U18 District Individual Championships in Leverkusen

The athletes fought very hard at the U11, U15 and U18 district individual championships (level: Cologne district) on Sunday (February 4, 2024). Almost 500 judoka competed on five mats in different weight and age classes. This year the competition took place in Leverkusen. “We can set a participant record! We have never had so many athletes fight on a competition day before,” reports judo department head Michael Weyres. “So a big thank you goes out to every helping hand in volunteer work. Without this support such a day would not be possible! The judoka from the entire district all fought brilliantly, and we are of course happy about the many medals here in Leverkusen.”

For the U11, the competition ends with the district individual championships.
The district champions of the U15 and U18 will compete together with the respective vice district champions and the third-placed team at the West German Individual Championship in Herne in two weeks (February 17, 2024).
