Jorge Soler Signs Three-Year Deal with San Francisco Giants

Jorge Soler and the San Francisco Giants reached an agreement to sign a contract for three seasons in exchange for 42 million dollars, according to the journalist Susan Slusser. It is an agreement that was closed once Spring Training began and that will not be the last in the coming days in Major League Baseball (MLB).

After all, the Cuban slugger is one of several star free agents who still do not officially have a team in the Major Leagues. In Soler’s case, he will move to the western United States once he passes his medical exams.

Established as a power hitter in MLB, the Cuban was looking for a multi-year contract and had to wait until spring to get it. After failing to reach an agreement with the Marlins, the slugger will continue his career in San Francisco.

TALENT IN MLB

Con Jorge Soler signed, in MLB there is still talent available in the team search. Both pitchers and position players who will try to sign multimillion-dollar deals in the coming days.

Blake Snell: current winner of the National League Cy Young Award, an award he also previously won in the American League. At 31 years of age, the left-hander is still a free agent and, with a 3.20 lifetime ERA, he expects a multi-year, million-dollar contract.

Cody Bellinger: one of the best players in MLB currently. Stellar defense, lifetime OPS of .829 and with superlative defense in each of the outfields and at first base. Another slugger waiting for a big payday.

Jordan Montgomery: 31-year-old pitcher, who is coming off his best season and who was key in the Rangers’ title. He is not at Snell’s level, however, he is a pitcher who can help in any rotation.

David Peralta: veteran with 10 years in the majors and who among his resume includes a Gold Glove and a Silver Bat. In 2023 he had an offensive setback, although with the potential to improve.
