Joran Kweekel and Chloë Mayer Win National Badminton Titles

ALMERE (ANP) – Badminton player Joran Kweekel has extended his national title at the National Championships in Almere. The second-seeded Kweekel defeated Aram Mahmoud in three games in the final: 21-13 22-24 21-10. Chloë Mayer won the Dutch singles title for the first time in her career. She defeated Amy Tan in two games: 26-24 21-13.

The doubles titles went to the couples Imke van der Aar and Alyssa Tirtosentono and to Andy Buijk and Ruben Jille. Van der Aar and Tirtosentono were too strong for Kelly van Buiten and Kirsten de Wit in two games in the final (21-16 21-14). Buijk and Jille defeated Ties van der Lecq and Brian Wassink: 21-13 21-12.

The mixed doubles title went to Wassink and Jaymie Laurens. They defeated Van der Lecq and Tirtosentono in three games: 21-14, 18-21 and 21-16.

Mark Caljouw and the couples Debora Jille/Cheryl Seinen and Ruben Tabling/Selena Piek did not participate in the National Championships. They played at a tournament in Thailand.
