JC Gernsdorf Dominates U10 South Westphalia Tournament with Six Weight Class Wins

JC Gernsdorf wins six weight classes at the U10 South Westphalia tournament

The U10 screening tournament for South Westphalia, organized by JC Gernsdorf in its own hall, was a complete success. The judo clubs from Siegerland, Sauerland, the Märkischer Kreis and the city of Hagen were invited. Over 50 young participants had registered in advance, of which the organizer JC Gernsdorf had by far the largest team with 16 kids.

At the end of the day we were actually able to take first place in six weight classes and were the most successful club from South Westphalia. JF Siegen Lindenberg took two first places, as did TV Freudenberg (once without a fight). JV Siegerland, JC Halver, TV Attendorn and TuS Iserlohn each took first place.

For some of our minis from the 4.30 p.m. group it was the first tournament. Welcome to the JCG competition team Amalia Wolf, Tim Stahl, Mats Pieper, and Luca Oberowski. The first places of Luca (two wins) and Tim (three wins) were remarkable but not surprising, because they had already shown their talent in training. Also first places for Nico Hellmann, who lived up to his favorite position with three victories, and Noah Koziol, who was able to win twice after being freshly cured. Luca Krumm and Mia Dietermann also stood at the top of the winner’s podium with two wins and took first place. Mia was only able to hold her own in front of her club mate Anni Schlemper, who took second place with two wins, due to the shorter fighting time. Further 2nd places went to Hannes Schmidt (2 wins), Flynn Schneider (2 wins), Oskar Schnabel (1 win), Phil Marburger (1 win) and Amalia Wolf (2 wins). Amalia narrowly beat Felicitas Trost, who took third place after a previous win. Henri Homrighausen, Hannes Kampf and Mats Pieper took further third places for the JCG.

Congratulations to the U10 team. Of course, not everyone can be at the top of the podium at the same time, but those who dare to compete have already won the first battle.

Many thanks to the board team for planning the competition perfectly in advance and ensuring that it ran smoothly. Many thanks to all the cake donors, the kitchen team and all those who helped with set-up and dismantling. Also many thanks to Sparkasse Siegen for their support.

Janna Götzen from our friends from Attendorn celebrated her debut as a referee and did a great job.
