Jayda Veinot played a pair of exciting matches during the week, Wednesday and Saturday against the Acadia Axewomen. Although the Reds lost 83-76 on Wednesday, Veinot had 20 points, seven rebounds and three assists in addition to a block over the 40 minutes of the game. On Saturday, Veinot turned things around with a 33-point performance, adding six rebounds, three assists, three blocks and three steals in 45 minutes of a 91-87 overtime victory over the Axewomen.

The Reds are waiting to know their opponent in the SUA semi-final on Saturday.

Luka Syllas, Queen’s

Luka Syllas of the Queen’s University Gaels had an electrifying outing on Friday against the Ottawa Gee-Gees and a magnificent duel on Saturday against the Carleton Ravens. Syllas recorded a double-double in a thrilling 89-88 overtime victory over the Gee-Gees, putting up 27 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, one block and five steals, scoring seven of the Gaels’ 11 points in overtime. The Kingston guard followed that performance up with 17 points, six rebounds, five assists and two steals in a 77-69 win over the Ravens.

The Gaels enjoy a first-round bye in the OUA playoffs and will host a quarterfinal on Saturday.
