Ivory Coast Defeats Nigeria 2:1 in the Final Match of the African Cup of Nations

In the final match, Ivory Coast defeated Nigeria 2:1 (0:1), which reached the final for the first time since 2013.

At the end of the first half, in the 38th minute, William Trost-Ekong put Nigeria in the lead, who beat the opponent’s goalkeeper from close range.

Ivory Coast equalized in the 62nd minute when Frank Kessia headed the ball into Nigeria’s goal, and Sebastien Allaire scored the winning goal in the 81st minute.

Ivory Coast previously won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015 and 1992.

On Saturday, in the fight for the bronze medals, DĀR defeated the team of the Democratic Republic of Congo in a shootout.

The African Cup of Nations is being held for the 34th time. The 2021 champions became the Senegal national team, which beat Egypt 4-2 in the penalty shootout after a goalless draw in the final.

The most titled African Cup of Nations team is Egypt, who have won seven times.
