Italian Judokas Gear Up for the Seasonal Grand Slam in Paris

In Paris we are starting to get into the Olympic spirit and that is what they will have to do too the judokas busy at the Accor Arena in the French capital in view of the first Seasonal Grand Slam. We will compete from 2 to 4 February in a very important competition for the purposes of qualifying for the 2024 Games, by virtue of a maximum of 1000 points up for grabs for the Olympic ranking, in each of the competing weight categories. There are 22 Italians competing, 12 men and 10 women: Assunta Scutto, Francesca Milani (-48 kg), Kenya Perna, Odette Giuffrida (-52 kg), Veronica Toniolo (-57 kg), Agnese Zucco, Nadia Simeoli (- 63 kg), Raffella Lelia Ciano (-70 kg), Alice Bellandi, Giorgia Stangherlin (-78 kg), Asya Tavano, Erica Simonetti (+78 kg), Simone Aversa (-60 kg), Fabio Basile (-66 kg) , Manuel Lombardo, Gabriele Sulli (-73 kg), Antonio Esposito, Giacomo Gamba (-81 kg), Christian Parlati (-90 kg), Jean Carletti, Nicholas Mungai (-100 kg) and Kwadjo Anani (+100 kg).

“The team is leaving for the first big event of this last Olympic semester– said Francesco Bruyere, technical manager of the women’s national team- Paris is certainly the queen race in terms of level, audience and organization, which is why we chose to participate. We need to start breaking the ice and feeling the five-circle atmosphere.”
