Isaiah Stewart Summoned to Testify in Court After Incident with Drew Eubanks

The Arizona police have summoned Isaiah Stewart to testify in court on February 23 to testify about his incident with Drew Eubanks. On February 14, the authorities arrested the Detroit Pistons center after punching the Phoenix Suns player. The scene occurred before the start of the game inside the Footprint Center locker room tunnel.

Stewart was released the same night after receiving a now dated felony assault citation. In principle, the summons does not affect the Pistons in the least, who do not have a game on February 23, although they will play on the 22nd and 24th against the Pacers and Magic respectively. Even so, Stewart has not played since January 28 due to a sprain. In fact, there is still no date for his return regardless of his judicial affairs.

In statements for The Arizona Republic Eubanks defined the meeting as something surprising. They exchanged words, faced each other, and Stewart swung his fist at him. The blow did not cause major problems for the Suns, who played without complications that same night. The legal consequences that the episode may have for the interior of Detroit are unknown.

In parallel, the NBA began an investigation process that will surely end in a severe sanction. It should be remembered that this is not the first time that Stewart has been involved in an altercation in the context of an NBA game. Since in 2021 he received a suspension for chasing LeBron James looking for a fight after a fight with the Lakers player that caused a gap in his eyebrow.
