Isaiah Hartenstein Expresses Frustration Over Limited Minutes Despite Strong Performance

Isaiah Hartenstein, in a statement after the victory against the Philadelphia 76ers, has acknowledged his “frustration” with his limited minutes, since he only had 11 when in theory he would add up to 21 on his return to the hardwood after overcoming Achilles problems.

«I’ve felt pretty good out there. Just a little frustrating about not being able to hit my minute requirement. “That was the frustrating thing,” he acknowledged to the media. NY Post. “But still. We will go day after day. I feel good. So we have to continue to build on this. And I hope that in the next game I reach my period of minutes », he explained.

Given the serious injury to his teammate Mitchell Robinson, the aforementioned Hartenstein has taken a step forward as an interior reference for the Knicks, contributing in all facets of the game: points, rebounds, assists and, above all, defensive presence in the zone.

Since Mitch was injured, he has been averaging 10.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game.

In last night’s win against Philly he had 11 minutes to get 2 rebounds and 1 steal without making any shots.

«We just have to develop him gradually. I think it will be difficult for him to go from 10 minutes to playing 30. But we will see in the next two days,” acknowledged Tom Thibodeau.

So far this season, his Achilles heel is giving him some problems, forcing him to sit down on two occasions.

«It’s something that irritates me. Always happens. But we are not afraid. The Knicks are doing a good job with me. The strength is there. We are not afraid of it bursting or something like that,” the center concluded.
