Investigating Judge Rejects Request for Dismissal in Death of Luca Ventre: New Investigations Ordered

The investigating judge rejected the request for dismissal made by the Rome Prosecutor’s Office on the death of Luca Ventre, the 35-year-old Italian, originally from Senise, who on January 1, 2021, after entering the Italian Embassy in Montevideo, Uruguay, climbing over the gate was blocked by a Uruguayan policeman with a move known as the judo ring which caused his death . The Ventre family’s lawyer, Fabio Anselmo, made the investigating judge’s decision known.

The investigating judge – as reported by Ansa – would also have ordered new investigations within the embassy itself, such as the acquisition of telephone records. The Procurement of Rome, which in January 2021 had opened a file on Ventre’s death, had asked for the investigation to be closed due to inadmissibility as the suspect was never present in Italian territory.

The family of the 35-year-old, whose mother is from Senise, has always asked for truth and justice on Luca’s death, highlighting the numerous obscure points of the story.
