“Today is the world day of wetlands, therefore of lakes, rivers, coasts and marshes. We have been fighting for 40 years for the conservation of the wetlands of the Castelli Romani: the two lakes, the Doganella marsh, the system of the Lanuvio ditches, the Almone River and the Incastro River, the Cerquone ponds, Pentima Stalla and the Doganella torrent and the Giulianello lake.
Places that not even all the inhabitants of the Castelli Romani know, but which are full of biodiversity. Habitat in danger due to land consumption, pollution, lowering of water tables. Climate change in the future will make things worse, endangering the amphibians and aquatic fauna and flora of our territory. On February 4th we’ll see each other at 10am at Lake Albano, at the marina, for an information walk and to demonstrate the will of more than 45 local associations to do something concrete for this very important environmental emergency. This event was included among the World Wetlands Day events.
