Iga Swiatek advances to second round in Doha

She had not set foot on a court since January 20 and her elimination in the third round of the Australian Open. The Polish Iga Swiatek strolled for her entry into the WTA 1000 tournament in Doha, this Monday evening. Opposed to the Romanian Sorana Cirstea in the second round, the world number 1 and double title holder swept the 22nd player in the world in two sets (6-1, 6-1) after only 1h02 of play.

The tornado Swiatek is back in competition and has made it known to his opponents. Cirstea paid the price, broken twice during a first round concluded in 33 minutes (6-1) and a little game left to the thirty-year-old (33 years old).

Full of serenity, Swiatek inflicted another 6-1 on a disillusioned Cirstea. The 22-year-old will meet a Russian in the round of 16: the nugget Erika Andreeva (19 years old) or the number 14 seed Ekaterina Alexandrova.
