Returning from Naples the attacker felt ill. The rossoblù striker had suffered a strong blow to the head in a game clash with Ostigard at Diego Armando Maradona

Concern for Mateo Retegui, the striker of Genoa and the national team. The rossoblù suffered a slight illness during the return flight from Naples, after the 1-1 draw between Alberto Gilardino’s team and Walter Mazzarri’s team (Ngonge responded to Frendrup’s goal in the 90th minute). So Retegui, once the plane landed in the Ligurian capital, was kept for observation last night at the San Martino hospital. The news was reported by «Il Secolo XIX».

The rossoblù striker had suffered a strong blow to the head in a clash with Ostigard at Diego Armando Maradona during the championship match against Napoli. So to avoid any risk, after disembarking at Cristoforo Colombo, Retegui was taken to the emergency room at San Martino and subjected to a brain CT scan which gave a negative result. The player spent the night under observation and, in all likelihood, he will be discharged this morning and will return to the disposal of Alberto Gilardino, who said he was happy with the draw despite the victory vanishing towards the end: «There is a growth in mentality from the incredible team. I’m happy with the performance, the attitude and the quality of the game against a strong team. Furthermore, we are happy with the point we won, it is normal to give opportunities to these strong players. I saw Napoli’s match against Milan and in the last 20-25 minutes of the game Mazzarri’s team besieged the Rossoneri. They may be in difficulty, but they are still a very important team.”
