Heart operation on ex-road world champion Sagan – sport.ORF.at

According to media reports, three-time world champion Peter Sagan had to undergo heart surgery in Italy on Friday. The 34-year-old Slovakian was diagnosed with abnormal tachycardia with a strong ventricular reaction after a mountain bike race last weekend, which made the operation necessary. Sagan should be able to start training again soon after the operation, it was said.

Sagan ended his road career last fall. The former series winner with numerous great successes to his credit wants to qualify for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer on his mountain bike. To do this, he would still have to collect a lot of UCI points in the World Cup season that starts in April.
