Harold Mayot eliminated by Félix Auger-Aliassime at the Open Sud de France

Of the thirteen French people entered in the first round, none will be present in the semi-finals of the Open Sud de la France. Harold Mayot (144th), who had eliminated Lucas Pouille and Benoît Paire, had the opportunity to experience one for the first time.

But he came up against Félix Auger-Aliassime (30th) who knew how to pick up the pace after a quirky first set. In this set with five breaks, the Canadian had the merit of getting out of it with forceps after letting his throw-in slip away at 1-1, then 2-2.

In the second set, he found the rhythm against Mayot who, in particular, was struggling with his forehand. Very comfortable indoors, FAA can take advantage of this tournament to regain confidence and finally win in two sets (7-5, 6-1). The former world No. 6 had not had a semi-final since October in Basel. He will face Alexander Bublik this Saturday.
