Grizzlys Athletes Shine at RSEQ Badminton Tournaments

On January 27, the third RSEQ badminton tournament of the season took place and Grizzlys athletes were present to represent Louis-Jacques High School. The tournament took place in Montmagny, therefore at home for the Grizzlys. Nearly 170 players from 11 schools participated.

The duos composed of Léa Guimont and Marianne Beaumont, Charles Pelletier and Laurent Bonneau and Catherine Beaumont and Étienne Pelletier emerged winners in their respective categories. In addition, the other teams, since there were twelve registered for this tournament, managed to stand out by losing either in the semi-final or by winning their consolation final to finish in 5th position.

On January 28 at École Marcelle-Malette in Lévis, the RSEQ-CA all-star tournament took place. Thomas Nadeau was the only representative from Louis-Jacques-Casault High School to participate in this competition which brought together the top 30 best male athletes as well as the top 16 on the female side. Thomas left with a record of two wins and two losses.

The coaches, Pascale Dubé and Sébastien Lavigne, as well as Xavier Harvey, assistant coach, say they are very satisfied with the progress of the two tournaments and the results obtained by their athletes. The next tournament will take place on Saturday, February 17 at École supérieure des Pionniers in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures.
