Grant Williams will have only spent half a season with the Mavs, after having been one of their flashiest recruits in the offseason. The mayonnaise never took hold between the former Celtics player, Luka Doncic and his teammates in Dallas. Arriving in Charlotte before the trade deadline, Williams seems to be coming back to life and was impressive in his first two matches. Even if he goes from a competitive basketball context to that of a team in transition to say the least, the man who nicknamed himself “Batman” in Boston is delighted with his new situation.

It’s hard not to see it as a tackle for the Mavs and in particular for Luka Doncic. It’s a fact, almost everything goes through the Slovenian genius in Dallas and it’s quite different from what Grant Williams experienced with the Celtics. If he did not name it, we can guess that he is still partly the target of these criticisms.
