Governor of Sonora Recognizes Archery Medalist Alejandra Valencia

The goalkeeper from Hermosillo, Alejandra Valencia, was recognized by the governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo for her important sports career, reported the head of the Institute of Scholarships and Educational Credit of the State Government.

Last Friday, Manuel Cáñez Martínez stated that the 29-year-old athlete received financial support for her excellent results in archery.

“Well we are here fulfilling it, the support varies, it depends on the medal that has been achieved, gold, silver or bronze and it also depends on whether it was in a national or international event, today for example our pride and medalist Alejandra Valencia is with us, she will receive support for their excellent results,” commented the state official.

Last Friday, Alfonso Durazo awarded 957 scholarships to young athletes and also university students, at the Cobach Villa de Seris Auditorium, located in Hermosillo.

Alfonso Durazo explained that some scholarships for young athletes are up to 50 thousand pesos, while financial support for university students varies between 5 thousand pesos, 7 thousand pesos and 10 thousand pesos.
