Government of Castilla-La Mancha Promotes Archery Through Workshops Across Autonomous Community

Within the activities of the European Sports Region, the Government of Castilla-La Mancha is working to promote archery through seven workshops distributed throughout the main towns of the Autonomous Community.

These workshops, available to some 14,000 citizens of all ages and conditions, seek, on the one hand, to make visible the work of the federations of the autonomous community, and on the other, to promote minority sports so that they reach the greatest number of athletes and interested parties. , as reported by the Board in a press release.

The activity is one of more than 1,000 that are scheduled throughout Castilla-La Mancha, throughout the year to celebrate the European Sports Region, a conglomerate of sports initiatives that will reach more than 620,000 spectators and that will involve the participation of more than 500,000 citizens.

The general director of Youth and Sports, Carlos Yuste, has reported all this during the course of the ‘Spanish 3D Indoor Archery Championship’, an event that took place in the ‘Esteban López Vega’ Fair Pavilion in Valdepeñas. There he has been accompanied by the mayor of the town, Jesús Martín.

In his statements, Carlos Yuste congratulated all those who participated in the meeting and, especially, the winners of the tests, while recalling that, currently, in Castilla-La Mancha there are 1,083 federated archery shooters, of which 800 are men and 283 are women.

THE CHAMPIONSHIP, MORE THAN 600 PARTICIPANTS

The Spanish Archery Championship is being held this weekend at the Esteban López Vega Fair Pavilion, in the 3D, traditional bow, longbow and naked bow categories. The event has broken the participation record compared to the last edition held in León and has brought together nearly 600 athletes from teams from almost all the autonomous communities.

On Friday and Saturday morning the championship was held in 3D mode, while this Saturday afternoon and Sunday it will be the turn of the traditional bow, longbow and naked bow modes.
