Get Older in Motion: The Benefits of Judo Training for older Adults

The group “Get older in motion” has existed at the 1st JJJC Lünen since 2014
with JUDO”. The offer has become established; however, the group is still looking
other comrades-in-arms. The training group is diverse
and ranges from those returning to school, to interested parents, all the way up to the whole
new judoka. The age range is also broad. The active ones are
from late thirties to late sixties.
The training content is complex:
With regard to health aspects, these include (re)strengthening
the muscles, especially the back muscles, strengthening the heart
Circulatory system, fall prevention and coordination.
By learning judo techniques, the body and mind become
equally stressed. In this respect, the training also promotes mental health
Fitness.
The training is not focused on fighting; rather, it’s about
to learn the techniques in their basic principles. The training design is
individual in that each participant determines the intensity themselves

Here we don’t “fight against each other”, but rather “practice with each other”.
