Berlin (dpa) – The German basketball players are starting the European Championship qualification without the NBA stars and with only two world champions.
National coach Gordon Herbert nominated Justus Hollatz and David Krämer from last year’s world champion team for the games on February 22nd in Ludwigsburg against Montenegro and three days later against Bulgaria in Botevgrad. Germany will also face Sweden in Group D. The top three teams will qualify for the 2025 finals in Cyprus, Poland, Latvia and Finland.
In addition to the NBA stars, Herbert is also without a large number of world champions in his 17-man squad due to the pressures in the Euroleague.
