A Dutch couple who were together for more than 70 years died hand in hand after both opted for scheduled euthanasia.
This is former Prime Minister Dries van Agt, and his wife Eugine van Agt-Krekelberg, who was with him since he joined the political life of that country in 1971.
Both, at the age of 93, decided to say goodbye holding hands at their home in Nijmegen, three days after the politician turned 93, according to The Rights Forum, an organization founded by van Agt.
“He died hand in hand with his beloved wife Eugenie van Agt-Krekelberg, the support and support person with whom he was together for more than seventy years and whom he always continued to refer to as ‘my girl,'” the announcement detailed.
Likewise, the organization indicated that the former prime minister was already in very poor health, suffering everything after he suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2019.
“We know from experience that people think it’s a nice idea. Especially after a lifetime in which people have merged with each other.
