In the trial, which was held between February 5 and 7, the Prosecutor’s Office requested nine years in prison for Alves and the private prosecution, twelve.

The court, which applies the mitigating factor of reparation for the damage, concludes that it has been proven that Alves “suddenly grabbed” the victim, threw her to the ground and, preventing her from moving, raped her, “despite the fact that the complainant said that No, he wanted to leave.”

According to the hearing, “for the existence of sexual assault it is not necessary that physical injuries occur, nor that there be evidence of heroic opposition from the victim to having sexual relations.”

Before his sentencing, it was learned that Alves, the 40-year-old former soccer player, is under strict surveillance by Brians 2 security in Barcelona, ​​facing the possibility of an attempt on his life.

Some of the evidence against Alves in the trial was provided by the Mossos d’Esquadra, an entity that confirmed that the images from the security cameras of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona “completely corroborate” the complaint of the young woman who accuses the former soccer player.
