Jude Bellingham, author of a superb season with Real Madrid, finds himself at the heart of a scandal that is making noise. The 20-year-old English midfielder – top scorer in La Liga with 14 goals in 19 games – reportedly called Mason Greenwood a “rapist” this Thursday, February 1, during the Merengues’ 2-0 success on the Getafe pitch.
The event, revealed by The Chain Being, would have been reported to the supervisor of the Spanish championship by Getafe in order to be analyzed. Jude Bellingham could be sanctioned for his comments. Getafe, however, would not intend to press charges against the midfielder. This altercation was only noticed after a video clip was broadcast on social networks.
Loaned by Manchester United in Spain, Mason Greenwood was targeted by accusations of domestic violence and attempted rape against his partner dating from January 2022. The British authorities, however, dropped the charges exactly a year ago, on February 2, 2023. The 22-year-old striker had been sidelined by the Mancunian club.
Real Madrid, on the strength of its success against Getafe thanks to a double from Joselu, regained the lead of the championship last night. He has a sixth success in La Liga and is two points ahead of Girona, second in the standings and a nice surprise of the season.
