‘First summer transfer from Anderlecht already in the pipeline’

RSC Anderlecht is currently preparing for an exciting end to the season. For the first time in years, the Purple & White seem to be fully competing for the championship. Behind the scenes, however, the coming summer mercato is also being prepared.

A year ago, the RSCA season came to an early end. The record champion missed out on a place in the Play-Offs and even ended the regular competition in a sad eleventh place in the final standings. The sporting management therefore decided to intervene significantly at the summer mercato.

After all, CEO Sports Jesper Fredberg provided his compatriot and head coach Brian Riemers with one acquisition, most of which had the potential to become a permanent strongman. This injection of quality is also paying off, as is evident from the promising results this season.

Returning mercenaries

But that army of reinforcements also claimed victims. For example, several expiring contracts were not extended, while a number of players were permanently sold. A rental solution was found for other redundant pawns. However, they will return to Neerpede next summer.

One of those guys is Ishaq Abdulrazak. The 21-year-old attacker from Nigeria was acquired from Swedish side IFK Norrköping in the summer of 2022, but failed to live up to expectations. After a year he returned to Sweden, this time on a rental basis at BK Häcken.

Abdulrazak did manage to reach his desired level there and the Nigerian is usually in the starting line-up. According to The last hour Häcken has now indicated that it wants to take over the attacker permanently, something that the player himself also prefers. And Anderlecht seems willing to cooperate on a deal. Provided that a sufficient offer is made. The Purple & White paid around 3 million euros for Abdulrazak at the time and wants to recover a large part of that sum.
