In the Finnish championship, Kyjervi “KyKy”, coached by Gunta Atara, lost to Kokola’s “Tiikerit” 2-3 (25:21, 20:25, 20:25, 35:33, 8:15), with Renars Paul Jansson scoring 47 points and reaching a new league record. He scored two points each with a serve and a block, and converted 43 of 70 attacks, shooting 61% and ending the game with a +/- of +35. In the fourth set, Jansson scored 22 points and had a +/- of +19. The previous league record of 44 points belonged to Estonian Erik Jago since 2003 and since 2022 to Latvian Krister Dardzāns.
Roman Sauš scored 22 points, scoring a point each from the service line and with a block, as well as accumulating 20 points in 41 attacks. Aivars Petrusevics scored 18 points, scoring three points with a serve and two with a block, as well as converting 13 of 32 attacks into points. With 488 points, Jansson is the league’s top scorer and is also first in average points per set (6.18 points). “Kyky” ranks seventh in the ten-team championship with 27 points in 19 games.
In the Polish championship, the “Jastrzebski Wegiel” of Jastšembe Zdruja, represented by Edwin Skrüder, beat Katowice GKS at home with 3-1 (23:25, 25:18, 25:20, 25:19). Skrüder, due to injury, was not included in the application. “Barkom-Kažanis” led by Uģis Krastiņas, with Denis Petrova and Kristeras Dardzanas in the line-up, beat Suwalka “Šlepsk” 3-0 (25:23, 25:23, 25:21). Petrovs scored a point with a serve, but Dardzhans entered the fight for a change, scoring a point on a block. In the tournament table, “Jastrzebski Wegiel” takes first place with 54 points in 20 games, while “Barkom-Kažani” takes 11th place in the 16-team championship with 20 points in 19 matches. In the Polish 1st League, “Lechia” Masovia Tomaszów, represented by Kristaps Schmidt, lost 1-3 (25:22, 18:25, 23:25, 16:25) to KPS Sedlce. Schmidt scored 12 points on 29 shots. After 21 games, “Lechia” with 37 points occupies the eighth place in the competition of 16 teams.
“Cambrai” represented by Oleg Klopov defeated “Martigues” at home with 3-2 (26:24, 19:25, 22:25, 25:14, 15:13) in the second strongest French league (B league). Klopov entered the fight in the fourth set and scored four points, collecting two in the block, as well as being effective in two of five attacks. “Frejus” represented by Atvaras Ozoliņš lost 0-3 (24:26, 22:25, 19:25) to Montpellier “France Avenir 2024”. Ozoliņš scored four points in the first two sets, accumulating a point in a block, as well as converting three of 17 attacks into points. With 26 points in 17 games, the Frežisa team is third among 12 teams, and “Cambrai” is fourth with 25 points.
In the Czech championship, “Kladno” represented by Kristaps Platac defeated “Odalena Voda” represented by Vladislava Blumberg 3-1 (25:18, 22:25, 25:18, 26:24) at home. Platacs became the top scorer of the match with 18 points. He scored three points with a serve, one with a block, and also scored 14 points on 32 attacks. Blumberg scored nine points, four of them on a block, one on a serve, and he was effective in four of ten attacks.
“Dukla” from Liberec, represented by Pavel Yemeljanova, beat “Pribram” 3-1 (25:19, 23:25, 25:22, 25:18) on the road. Yemelyanov did not play. “Kladno” is second in the tournament table with 47 points in 19 matches, “Dukla” is in third place with 44 points in 20 matches, and Odolena Vodas AERO is seventh in the 13-team competition with 26 points in 19 matches. Platacs is the league’s top scorer with 382 points, and is also first in the league in average points scored per set (5.38) and missed serves (32), as well as fourth in average missed serves per set (0.45 serves per set).
In the Austrian championship, “Amstetten NO” represented by Markus Cielav lost 1-3 (19:25, 25:17, 20:25, 18:25) to “Sokol/Post” from Vienna. Cielavs scored 11 points in 31 attacks. “Aich/Dob” of Bleiburg, represented by Jēkabas Dzenis, defeated Rīdas UVC 3-0 (26:24, 28:26, 25:20) on the road. The woodpecker did not go to the field. With 33 points in 17 games, “Aich/Dob” is in fourth place in the ten-team competition, while “Amstetten NO” is eighth with 11 points.
In the championship of Cyprus, “Anagennisis” of Deryneia, represented by Tom Vanag, lost to “Anorthosis” of Famagusta 0-3 (20:25, 20:25, 15:25). The Latvian volleyball player was on the court until the middle of the third set. With 13 points in 12 games, “Anagennisis” ranked fifth among eight teams and will continue the fight for 5th-7th place.
Women
Maggie Dambrecht’s Kuopio Puijo Wolley has won the Finnish Cup. In the semifinals of the final four, Turku defeated “Kangasala” 3-2 (24:26, 18:25, 25:23, 26:24, 15:6), and in the final with 3-0 (25:20, 25:22, 25 :15) – Kusamo’s “Polkky”. Dambrecht, coming on as a substitute in both games, scored two points in the semifinals, one of them with a block, and one more in seven attacks, but the only attack in the final was ineffective.
The second place in the Danish Cup has been taken by “Holte”, represented by Kristine Leskinović, who defeated “Gentofte” in the semi-finals with 3-2 (23:25, 26:24, 22:25, 25:21, 15:9), and in the final with 1 -3 (25:23, 24:26, 17:25, 24:26) lost to the leading team of the Danish championship “USA Elite” from Aarhus.
In the Turkish championship, Ankara PTT represented by Marta Kamelia Levinska lost 1-3 (19:25, 23:25, 28:26, 20:25) to “Belediyespor” of Nilifera. Lewinska entered the court for a change, scoring one point on six attacks, as well as earning one point on serve. With 16 points in 19 matches, PTT ranks 12th in the tournament table in the competition of 14 teams.
In the Greek championship, “Aris” Thessaloniki, represented by Anija Yurdza, lost to AEK Athens at home with 1-3 (25:19, 16:25, 18:25, 20:25). Jurdža scored 10 points, one with a serve, and was also able to get to the point on nine of 27 attacks. “Aris” ranks 10th among 12 teams with 13 points in 16 games.
In the Polish first league, the unit of Jaroslava “SAN-Pajda” represented by Rzesz Mazury-Mago lost 2-3 (25:19, 19:25, 25:18, 21:25, 8:15) away to “Legionovia” and at home by 2 -3 (24:26, 12:25, 25:17, 25:23, 8:15) – “Nike” of Vengruva.
