Fiamme Oro youth Judo gym inaugurated in Perugia

Youth Judo gym – This morning, at the Perugia Police Headquarters, a Youth Section of the “Fiamme Oro” Sports Group of the State Police was officially opened, dedicated to the sporting discipline of Judo. The inauguration was presided over by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of the Interior, Hon. Emanuele Prisco, and by the Chief of Police – Director General of Public Security, Prefect Vittorio Pisani.

The ceremony saw the blessing of the gym by the Bishop of Perugia – Città della Pieve, Monsignor Ivan Maffeis, with the participation of local authorities, including the Police Commissioner Lamparelli, the Mayor Romizi, the President of the Fiamme Oro Sports Group of the Police of State Montini, the President of the Umbria Region Tesei, the President of the Legislative Assembly Squarta, the Prefect of the Province of Perugia Gradone and other figures of civil, military and religious importance.

The initiative aims to promote social inclusion, the diffusion of the culture of legality and the recovery of minors at risk, allowing the Sports Group technicians to teach young people from primary schools in the Perugian school district the Olympic discipline of Judo.

Undersecretary Prisco highlighted the importance of such initiatives to affirm the culture of legality and offer positive examples to young people. He underlined the unifying role of sport, promoting a society founded on inclusion, solidarity and respect for the rules. He also recalled the inclusion of sport in the Constitution to recognize its educational and social value.

The Chief of Police declared that the Fiamme Oro are a source of pride for the State Police, not only for their sporting successes but also for their commitment to transmitting the values ​​of sport, which are fundamental for the growth of young people.

The Police Commissioner of the Province of Perugia, Fausto Lamparelli, underlined the ambition of using sport as a tool for cohesion and aggregation to encourage the inclusion of less well-off children or those who live in difficult contexts.

Mayor Andrea Romizi strongly supported the project on the culture of legality through sport, considering it fundamental to work, in synergy with other institutional subjects, on the young people of the community.

The President of the Fiamme Oro Sports Group, Dr. Francesco Montini said he was proud to establish a Youth Section in Perugia. Through sports practice, the Sports Group intends to spread values ​​such as legality, inclusion, loyalty and respect for the rules, contributing to bringing young citizens closer to the Institution.

The ceremony concluded with the traditional cutting of the inaugural ribbon and a short performance on the tatami by the students of the Youth Section and the athletes of the Fiamme Oro Sports Group, who presented the Judo techniques.
