Argentine midfielder Federico Redondo was announced today as a new player for Inter Miami, from the United States, where he will be a teammate of his compatriot, star Lionel Messi.
Redondo, 21, who arrives in Major League Soccer after two outstanding seasons at Argentinos Juniors, signed a contract with the Florida team until the end of the 2027 season and with the option to extend it for one more year.
“The midfielder joins the Club as part of the MLS Under 22 initiative, and as a replacement for the player of the Under 22 initiative, the Argentine Facundo Farías, who suffered an injury that will keep him out for the entire season,” Inter Miami detailed in a statement.
“I am very happy to join a club that is growing so much. It is a nice opportunity to share the field with great players,” acknowledged Redondo, in dialogue with the official press of the team led by Argentine Gerardo Martino.
“I want to integrate with my teammates. You have to go step by step, but always dream big,” added the footballer who, according to the club, is currently waiting for his international transfer certificate (ITC) and his visa. P-1.
“We are pleased to add an exciting young midfielder like Federico to Inter Miami. He is a promising footballer who is very agile with the ball at his feet, and shows good positioning out of possession,” said Chris Henderson, CSO and sporting director of Inter Miami.

“We believe in his potential, but we also feel that he will immediately be a strong addition to our squad as we look to achieve more success in 2024,” he concluded.
The midfielder who was part of the Argentine U-23 team in the Venezuela Pre-Olympic Championship, played 58 games and scored two goals with the Argentinos in Primera shirt.
In principle, Inter Miami bought the pass from the son of former legendary midfielder Fernando Redondo for 8 million dollars (includes bonuses for objectives) and the “Bicho” was left with a fifteen percent capital gain in a future sale.
