FC Bayern Munich Struggles with Helplessness and Lack of Luck After Defeat Against VfL Bochum

At FC Bayern Munich there is helplessness after the defeat against VfL Bochum (2:3) – and at FCB they are also struggling with a lack of luck in the game.

“It feels like a horror film that doesn’t stop. Everything is going against us at the moment,” said Leon Goretzka on DAZN after the game. The national player explained: “It’s difficult to find explanations for this. We’ve made too many individual mistakes in the last few weeks. Bochum’s 1-1 draw is exactly what sets them apart, we knew that. We actually had answers to that beforehand “I thought about it, but couldn’t find it at that moment. Everything feels incredibly strange at the moment.”

Bayern initially took the lead in Bochum through Jamal Musiala, shortly afterwards Harry Kane missed a great chance to make it 2-0. Instead, Bochum turned the game around before the break and led 2-1 at halftime.

“I don’t think the defeat was fair, a lot went against us. We have four, five, six top-class chances,” emphasized coach Thomas Tuchel. “We fell behind out of nowhere and played outnumbered for a long time. It wasn’t deserved.”

Tuchel said his team’s performance was okay: “Overall, we performed differently than in Leverkusen or Lazio. We never stopped believing in it. But it wasn’t to be today.” The 50-year-old summed up: “If we play the same game again, there is a high probability that we will win.”

Spicy: Tuchel canceled the obligatory press conference after the game. The FCB excused his absence by saying that they wanted to get the plane back to Munich.
