Sturm-Jewel Mathys Tel (18) enjoys a lot of appreciation from Bayern fans because of his likeable nature. One reason besides his six joker goals: he regularly stays on the pitch longer after games and gives away his jersey.

On Instagram, Tel shared a photo of himself playing on the console. There is a large picture frame directly under his television. Framed inside is his honorary membership in the “Bayern-Freunde Bindlach – the Bears” fan club. The Frenchman received this during a visit at the end of January.

With many other stars, the frame probably wouldn’t even have made it into the apartment, but with Tel, the gift even had a special place. The identification with the club couldn’t be better, now the attacker just has to assert himself on the pitch.
In the 23 Bundesliga matchdays so far, Tel has been substituted 19 times, but has not been in the starting line-up once.

Most recently there was a secret meeting between his advisor Gadiri Camara and sports director Christoph Freund (46). The meeting was positive. Bayern have confirmed young hopeful Tel that they will keep him and include him in the club’s future plans. The extension of his contract, which runs until the summer of 2027, could soon become an issue because Bayern want to prevent the Frenchman (market value: 50 million euros) from leaving early.
Tel moved from French club Stade Rennes to Munich in the summer of 2022 for a transfer fee of 20 million euros.
The new sports director Max Eberl (50) also confirmed at his introduction that the record champions are planning to work with him: “Of course we will also make sure that we find stars. Whether these can be realized remains to be seen. But we also want to support the development of players like Tel.”
