“This madness of the Argentina Open is over. It’s still hard for me to come to terms with everything I’ve experienced this week,†the 23-year-old player first emphasized. Thanks to this achievement, he moved up 28 places to 59th. Thus, he became the fourth best Argentine in the world rankings, as he is ahead of Francisco CerÃondolo (22nd), Tomás Etcheverry (27°) and Sebastian Baez (30°).

How Díaz Acosta’s path will continue in the professional circuit

After the consecration in Buenos Aires, he traveled to Brazil to compete in the ATP 500 in Rio de Janeiro, where he will face the Swiss Stan Wawrinka (67°) this Tuesday in the first round. Next week Díaz Acosta will have the ATP 250 in Santiago ahead of him, better known as the Chile Open, an event that closes the South American clay court tour of the circuit.
