DP World Tour Frittelli wins in Bahrain, Lacroix 4th

Dylan Frittelli (-13) signed his third success on the DP World Tour by winning the Bahrain Championship. Frédéric Lacroix took a very good fourth place (-9). Julien Guerrier (8th), Ugo Coussaud and Antoine Rozner (12th) also finished in the Top 15. A nice group shot.

He took his time, without panicking. After 12 tricky holes (+2, no birdies), Dylan Frittelli found the right fuel, particularly in putting, to seal his success at this Bahrain Championship. After two important birdies (13, 14), that of the 16th with a string of ten meters ended the suspense, under the sun, without too much wind, in almost ideal conditions. The South African (33 years old) had not won on the DP World Tour since 2017, just before moving on and winning on the PGA Tour (2019), before losing his card after a missed last season.

Formerly 44th in the world and Top 5 in Majors, twice, the hero of the day is making a sort of return to the future: “It’s quite crazy to win seven years later on this circuit after complicated years, the last of which on the PGA Tour. I was injured often, especially in one knee. I almost quit golf. But I was well surrounded and that saved me. I live again and I’m delighted to win again, hanging in there, after working a lot. »
