Doubts and Concerns Surround Rafael Nadal’s Ability to Last the Entire Season

While Rafael Nadal continues to prepare for his next scheduled meeting at the ATP 250 in Doha (February 19 to 24), doubts still remain around the Spaniard’s ability to physically last an entire season.

And for good reason, after his return to Brisbane, the king of clay was unable to participate in the Australian Open.

A very fragile body which trainer Thomas Drouet questioned during an interview for EssentiallySports.

“It’s not a question of level. Rafa is still an incredible player, but his body, I think, is no longer capable of supporting this load, this intensity of matches. He played one game (two actually, in Brisbane) and the next, boom, he got injured. And imagine, in Grand Slam it’s the best of five sets. Even when the players are at maximum, it’s already not easy, but if they are only at 70%, then…”
