Dorados Dominate Apaches in 136-103 Victory

The visiting team started with an initial 9-0 run in its favor, thanks to five points scored by American center Mitchell. Apaches reduced the gap from distance with a streak of eight unanswered points led by Chihuahua player Héctor “Virito” Hernández.

The first quarter was balanced, with baskets by Víctor Álvarez in his season debut and by former NBA player, Jorge Gutiérrez, for the locals, while the high decibels resonated in the Quevedo.

Dorados closed the first quarter strong, scoring from both medium and long distance, and with 15 points from Charles Mitchell they took a 42-31 lead.

Jaron Martin scored 8 points, Alejandro Reyna added 6, Jeff Ledbetter contributed 5, and José Vargas and Jared Pérez contributed three points each.

On the Apaches side, Joseph Quintana scored 21 points, captain Jorge Gutiérrez scored 19 against his former team, and Karim Rodríguez and Roberto Ayala scored 14 points each.

“It was a complicated match, we started well and maintained a good pace, so we are happy with the victory,” declared Alejandro Villanueva at the end of the match.

Dorados will host Indomables de Ciudad Juárez on Saturday, February 10 at the Manuel Bernardo Aguirre Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.
