Diving from great heights, the British Heslop wins world gold. Andrea Barnabà in the Top-10

There was no shortage of emotion in the men’s competition at the World High Diving Championships in Doha. In the last round, which also closed the world championship, some incredible dives were seen with very high coefficients, but above all Aidan Heslop overtook Gary Hunt in the standings, with the Briton putting the gold medal around his neck. Silver therefore for the Frenchman, bronze for the Romanian Catalin-Petru Preda, but Andrea Barnabà is also very good, which manages to reach the Top-10.

Simply incredible what Heslop managed to do in the last round. The British recovered from third position, taking the gold medal with a sensational quadruple forward pike with three and a half twists (6.2), which allowed him to obtain 151.90 points. In the end Heslop finished with a total score of 422.95.

The French stop at 413.25 Gary Hunt, who with his last dive scored 119.60 points. Bronze as mentioned for the Romanian Catalin-Petru Preda with 376.60. At the foot of the podium the two Mexicans Yolotl Otniel Martinez Cabral (363.30) and Sergio Guzman (357.15).

Really excellent performance by Andrea Barnabà, the youngest in the competition at 19 years old, who finished in ninth position with a total score of 325.05, concluding with a quadruple lead with half a twist worth 75.85 points. There will be time to grow and increase the coefficients, but this is certainly a great result. He finishes twelfth, but very close to the Top-10 (missing by only three points), Davide Baraldi, which scored a score of 315.40.
