The Endesa Mini Cup of Málaga now has a new champion. Barça beat Real Madrid yesterday by 78-89 with Martín Carpena as the backdrop, who wrote his name in the history of the tournament. The white team kept the pulse alive, but a brilliant second half by Mohamed Dabone – 22 points, 26 rebounds and 48 rating in the final – painted the trophy for Blaugrana.
The final did not disappoint at all. All the spotlights that needed attention shone. Dabone, 12 years old and 2.08m, took control of the game, although he was not as comfortable as in other games.
In addition, the pivot from Burkina Faso wrote his name in the history of the Mini Cup by being crowned MVP of the competition and entering the Ideal quintet. All the spotlight was on him from the start and he proved that they were justified from the first minute. Not only because of his superiority in centimeters, but also because of the exuberance he showed on the court.
