D1 Arkema: Paris joined on the wire by OL at the end of the 15th day (1-1)

The poster had something to delight, yet it turned out to be bland. This Sunday, PSG and OL failed to decide between themselves at Groupama Stadium, in the epilogue of the 15th day of D1 Arkema (1-1). The first period saw two teams sluggish offensively, apart from a rhythmic start to the match for Lyon.

The Rhone almost opened the scoring through Lindsey Horan, but the American’s header was well deflected by Kiedrzynek. In the process, Ada Hegerberg did not get her head on target (3rd). The only point to note for Paris at the end of the first 45 minutes: a little shot from Baltimore… And that’s it.

Paris cracked at the end

The second half was still more satisfying. Tabitha Chawinga almost opened the scoring after a failed face-off against Endler, but it was only a postponement. A quarter of an hour later, the Malawian attacked OL on the counterattack. Launched in depth, she took advantage of Gilles’ slowness and the passivity of the opposing goalkeeper to score from outside the left. Thanks to a great Katarzyna Kiedrzynek (78th, 85th), Paris believed it was preserving its cage, but unlike last year when it won 1-0 against Lyon, the capital club faltered at the worst times. In added time, Elisa De Almeida scored against her side after a solo number from Delphine Cascarino (90th + 1).

“Elisa was quite affected because she feels responsible. But you shouldn’t. It’s a fact of play after a very high level performance. It’s normal when we know her quality as a competitor and especially after our fairly positive overall performance,” said Jocelyn Prêcheur the Parisian technician, calling for focus on the next deadlines. The main regret is the two points that we leave behind. But we have a satisfactory development compared to the last three months.”

Lyon preserves its invincibility at the top of the Championship while Paris remains second. The result remains anecdotal, because the two teams will likely qualify for the Final Four, the new format of D1 Arkema this season.
