Countdown to the 13th Edition of the African Games in Accra: Senegal’s U20 Football Team Set to Compete

The 13th edition of the African Games will start in a few weeks in Accra. On the program for this competition, several sporting disciplines including football, with the U20s who will represent Senegal.

These quadrennial Games will kick off on March 8, 2024 in Accra. Several athletes from the continent will be taking part in this multi-sport competition. There are 30 of these disciplines, which will be contested in Accra and Cape Coast from March 8 to 23, 2024. Among them, football where Senegal will be represented by the Lion Cubs U20, now coached by Serigne Saliou Dia. There is also wrestling, tennis, cycling, athletics, swimming, badminton, table tennis, triathlon, swimming, pickleball, sambo, E-sport, mixed martial arts, scrabble , speedball, men’s and women’s football tournaments.

Eight qualifying disciplines for the Olympic Games Paris 2024
Eight of these disciplines, which are wrestling, tennis, cycling, athletics, swimming, badminton, table tennis and triathlon, will serve as qualifiers for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The competition will take place in ten different venues in Accra and Cape Coast. The Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra will be the hub of the said Games. It has a multi-purpose badminton room, multi-purpose indoor volleyball room, a handball dome, a table tennis dome, an aquatic triathlon center, a tennis sports complex and an aquatic swimming center.
