Young athletes and community artists have until March 15 to submit their applications.
For a new year, the City of L’Assomption will reward its young athletes and artists of excellence. Thus, young people who have distinguished themselves in their sporting or cultural discipline are invited to send a request for financial support to the municipality.
The Program to Support Sporting and Cultural Excellence aims to promote the development of the sporting and cultural talent of young Assumptionists through the granting of scholarships. In this sense, the municipality wishes to encourage the next generation to pursue their objectives and dreams.
“It is important for the City to recognize, encourage and support the motivation of young Assumptionists who stand out through their work and sustained efforts in cultural or sporting disciplines. These levels of performance represent a source of pride and inspiration for the entire community,” mentioned the mayor of L’Assomption, Sébastien Nadeau.
Scholarships amounting to between $100 and $600 depending on the category will be distributed among the candidates, up to an amount of $7,500.
Last year, 27 recipients received scholarships. They had distinguished themselves, among others, in figure skating, hockey, soccer, swimming, baseball and gymnastics.
Those interested in submitting their application have until Friday, March 15 at 12 p.m. to send their application by email to [email protected] or to the following address: 781, rang du Bas-de-L ‘Assomption Nord, L’Assomption. All information documents are available on the City’s website or at the Citizen’s Office.
