Chicago Bulls Player Patrick Williams to Miss Rest of Season After Foot Surgery

Chicago Bulls player Patrick Williams will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing future surgery on his left foot, the Illinois franchise announced in a press release.

Williams had been out since Jan. 25 due to acute bone edema. However, the player recently underwent further medical tests which revealed his injury was worse than expected, with a stress fracture.

Bad period for the Bulls, and for Williams in particular, who was in the last year of his contract beginner and his sporting future was decided in the championship. He will become a restricted free agent if they decide to extend his contract. eligible offer of 12.97 millions of dollars.

Since being selected with the 4th pick in the 2020 Draft, he has had several seasons with somewhat inconsistent performance. Additionally, in 2021-22, he was only able to play 17 official matches due to a broken wrist.

Additionally, Torrey Craig will be out two to four weeks after injuring his knee during the break. All-Star Week-endand Lonzo Ball, one of the so-called pillars of the franchise, has not played in two years and his physical condition is a total unknown.

Williams’ absence means putting even more pressure on a “very fair” team that currently has DeRozan and Coby White as the players with the most playing time. All this while fighting for a play-in spot, being currently ninth in the East with a 26-30 record.
