Buddy Hield Rejects Extension Offer, Traded to Philadelphia 76ers: What’s Next for the NBA Star?

Buddy Hield rejected a “significant” extension offer from the Indiana Pacers this past fall, which, added to the potentially lucrative new deal they will extend to Pascal Siakam, led management to trade him to the Philadelphia 76ers at the close of the market, according to the journalist reports Yahoo SportsJake L. Fischer.

In Philly, where they have no guaranteed contract beyond this season except for Joel Embiid, they are much better positioned to keep Hield, although management will consider many other options for all this projected cap space, which could exceed $60 million, according to journalist Keith Smith.

In fact, both Chris Haynes, of the middle Bleacher Report, like Fischer point out that Paul George will be the 76ers’ main target if he does not sign an extension with the Los Angeles Clippers. Denver Nuggets guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has also been linked to the Pennsylvania franchise.

However, the 76ers wouldn’t be the only team bidding for George. And here we get the Pacers back. According to Fischer, the forward would be interested in the possibility of returning to Indiana and sharing a team with Tyrese Haliburton. However, this option appears more complicated, at least from a salary cap perspective.
