Bayern talent Frans Krätzig (21) is loaned to Austria Vienna until the end of the season. The clubs officially announced this on Tuesday. BILD had previously reported on the upcoming agreement. The left-back should gain match practice in Austria. His contract in Munich runs until 2027 – Austria Vienna has no purchase option.

Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund (46): “Frans Krätzig is in a phase of his young career in which he has to play regularly in order to be able to continuously improve his level. At Austria Vienna he has the chance to take the next steps in the professional field. We will be monitoring its development very closely in the coming months.”
The Nuremberg native last made a short appearance in the Bundesliga in mid-December. In Krätzig’s position, Alphonso Davies (23), who suffered a medial ligament strain in the 3-1 win against Gladbach, and Raphael Guerreiro (30) are in front of him.

Although Davies will be out for at least two weeks, Bayern are now ready to let a possible replacement go. For Frans Krätzig, a loan is the next logical step. The highlight of his time at Bayern so far: The sensational long-distance hammer to make it 4-3 against Liverpool on the Asian tour.
Coach Thomas Tuchel (50) then praised him: “He’s a really good boy and has a great character. He did very well on the tour from day one.” Tuchel then promoted him from the reserve team to the first team.
In the current season, Krätzig only made seven appearances in all three competitions. He was once in the starting line-up in the DFB Cup disgrace in Saarbrücken (1:2). Recently, Krätzig’s youth club 1. FC Nürnberg and the Belgian first division team Standard Lüttich also had hopes of a loan. Austria Vienna now benefits from the transfer window that remains open.
