Bayern boss hopes for more competence

Max Eberl is to be appointed to the board of FC Bayern on Monday. The bosses welcome the new appointment.

Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen would welcome the upcoming appointment of Max Eberl as sports director. “I think that’s good. I’ve already said that more competence and more quality in management can only do us good,” said Dreesen after the 2-1 (0-0) against RB Leipzig without commenting on Eberl’s name in more detail.

Eberl is to be appointed sports director on Monday at a meeting of the Munich supervisory board, of which Dreesen is not a member. The position has been vacant since Hasan Salihamidzic was fired last summer – a replacement was always the plan, emphasized Herbert Hainer.

“At the end of the day, we are a football club and sport is the top priority,” said the Bayern president: “We should also have someone on the board who is responsible for sport, we have had that for the last three and a half years had. We will discuss this on Monday.”
