Asunción Prepares to Host II Junior Pan American Games in 2025 with 3,800 Athletes competing in 31 Sports

Asunción, Feb 27 (EFE).- The Paraguayan capital, Asunción, is preparing to receive 3,800 athletes who will compete in 31 sports and 50 modalities in the II Junior Pan American Games that will begin in 500 days.

The contest, scheduled from July 11 to 20, 2025, has been prepared jointly by local sports authorities, the organizing committee and Panam Sports.

During the event, which took place in the Medalist Hall of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), the ‘Asu2025’ logo was also presented.

“The II Junior Pan American Games 2025 represent a unique opportunity to celebrate youth talent and promote the values ​​of sport in our region,” said the president of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee (COP), Camilo Pérez, quoted in a statement.

“I think that the party we are going to experience will be a wonderful party of development, of projection, but, above all, of brotherhood in a very beautiful environment like the one that Asunción and Paraguay always give us,” added the Chilean manager.

For Ilic, the Junior Pan American Games allow us to “close that bridge that is often so difficult to cross for young people who reach the age of eighteen and must decide whether to continue dedicating themselves to the sport or not.”

The version that follows the original experience of the Colombian city of Cali, in 2021, the Luque Olympic Park (20 kilometers from Asunción) and the facilities of the National Sports Secretariat (SND) will be developed, athletes will compete in disciplines from athletics and swimming to judo and sailing.
