VIVA – Port FC officially introduced Indonesian National Team Captain Asnawi Mangkualam as its new player on Saturday 10 February 2024.
Port FC actually uploaded a photo of Asnawi Mangkualam three days ago when the player arrived in Thailand.
In his announcement, Asnawi showed off a photo of himself wearing Port FC’s proud blue jersey number 6.
“New player number 6 for The Lion (Port FC’s nickname). Captain of the Indonesian national team “Asnawi Mangkualam”. Let’s fight together,” wrote Port FC on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Asnawi also uploaded a photo of himself wearing a Port FC costume which combines blue and orange. “New challenges,” wrote Asnawi.
Asnawi’s upload with a Port FC jersey also received many comments, including from his colleagues on the Indonesian national team, Justin Hubner and Sandy Walsh.
Justin gave an emoji with heart-shaped eyes and Sandy Walsh wrote the words that are widely used in Indonesia, “Lighting up my brother”, accompanied by a fire emoji.
As a newcomer to Port FC, Asnaewi tried to pay tribute to the big boss of his new club, Madam Pang.
This woman who loves football has just served as General Chair of FAT. Previously, Madam Pang was known as the manager of the Thai national team.
Port FC is ranked third in the top division of the Thai league and is still trying to chase its first league title in the most prestigious competition in the White Elephant Country.
Port FC’s closest match is against Police TERO on Sunday 11 February 2024. Will Asnawi Mangkualam immediately get his debut in the Thai League?
What is certain is that he has to compete with Thai national team player Suphanan Bureerat, who always fills the right-back position in the first round.
