Spello. Between yesterday Saturday 10 February and today Sunday 11 February 2024, at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Spello (PG), a judo competition was held organized by the Fijlkam Regional Committee, obviously in the judo sector.

Saturday’s race, reserved for the “Cadet” competitive classes; Esordienti A and Esordienti B” saw the participation of 400 athletes from all over Italy.
While today’s race, with 400 very young people, was reserved for pre-competition.

The large turnout demonstrates the national importance of the Spello race, which has always been very popular!

In this context, very well organized by their Umbrian colleagues, nine judokas from ASD IL SALICE, seven on Saturday, two on Sunday, performed excellently, also taking home excellent podiums!

On Saturday, among the A Beginners, the Association’s new recruits fought very well in the fierce panorama, so much so that, in the category up to 36 kg, Szewedo Kevin won the bronze medal with a brilliant third place! Excellent performance also from Gabriel Di Berardino who finished fifth in the 55kg!

Among the B Beginners, the Judokas shone with the most precious light, the “yellow gold”, who destroyed the field of their opponents, both in the 52 kg ISABEL SABINI and in the 63 kg SARA SABATINI, climbing onto the highest podiums and winning the medals. gold!

In the men’s competition, the “veteran” Edoardo Ceccarelli, after having put into play all his combativeness that characterizes him, finished in fifth place in the category up to 50 kg. And Samuele Pannullo, excellently combative, also finished in fifth place in the 46 kg.

Cadetta Valeria Ceccarelli closed the competitive afternoon with an excellent performance, so much so that she did not leave the slightest space for her opponents in the 70 kg, climbing to the top step of the podium sealed by the gold medal.

With the conquest of the three golds, the Judokas of the Association demonstrated all their value, definitively demolishing the stereotype that combat sports are not for this gender identity. Nicely, smiling at themselves, they claim that a few bruises on the legs are not only not ugly, but are noteworthy.

This morning, Sunday, the two pre-competitors in the boys category also proved to be up to the competition.

This is so true that both Riccardo Valeri, in the 28kg, and Andrea Palleschi, in the 40kg, placed second, winning silver medals!

The brilliant results achieved allowed ASD IL SALICE to finish in 14th place, out of 49 Associations, in Saturday’s trophy! Placement made with only seven judokas.

Therefore, given the results of the athletes, omnipresent at the training sessions at the “I Cinque Elementi” facility, under the direction of the three ASDs that operate there: Il Salice; CSR Ju Jitsu Italia and Ju Jitsu Winner team De Clemente FM, located in Via dei Gladioli N° 12 in Avezzano, look forward, with great confidence, towards the next competitions, starting from Sunday 18th in Velletri.
