Over eighty athletes and dozens of sports clubs. Ascoli hosts the regional Olympic archery championship, scheduled for Sunday at the Monticelli arena. A highly anticipated event, organized by the ‘Arcieri Piceni’ company obviously in synergy with Fitarco, of which Raimondo Cipollini from Ascoli is the regional president. Starting from 10am, therefore, numerous shots will take place, with the competitions ending only in the afternoon, when the awards ceremony will then take place. In the race, out of the eighty athletes registered, there will also be several people from Ascoli who will therefore try to make their way and take home some medals. Furthermore, the race will also make places available, possibly, for the Italian championships. “It will be a beautiful showcase for our city and for the whole territory – explains Cipollini himself, who represents a piece of history for archery at a regional level –. Many people will arrive in Ascoli, including athletes, companions, parents and fans. It will certainly be a success and I invite everyone to attend the challenges because entry is free. We hope to be able to organize another important event also for the summer.”
